Yoga is a vast collection of spiritual techniques and practices all aimed at integrating mind, body and spirit. Yoga is not a religion but a spiritual practice that does not require any specific belief system to participate. The philosophies of yoga are universal. The practice of Yoga strives for the union of mind-body-spirit though body postures, breathing techniques, and internal cleansing. The benefits of yoga are numerous:

Relaxation:
Yoga exercises, such as gentle stretching, breathing, meditation and guided relaxation, release body tension and calm the nervous system and emotions.

Concentration:
Aware, conscious movement encourages focus, attention and concentration. The practice of balancing postures builds concentration.

Tone:
Holding yoga postures creates isometric exercise which tones every part of the body including the internal organs.

Increase Circulation:
Yoga exercises the endocrine system bringing healing energies to glands and other internal organs. The postures plus yogic massage increase circulation to stimulate the body and to eliminate toxins from the body.

Flexibility:
Yoga postures gently stretch the muscles in the body, increasing the flexibility and lengthening the muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Energy:
Slow, gentle movements with deep breathing energize the body rather than tire it. This allows daily renewal of the body-mind-spirit.

Food ::

Preparing, cooking and eating Indian food is a festival for the senses. There are brilliant spices, vegetables and other delicacies for the eyes, rich aromas for the nose, subtle to fiery flavors for the tongue and even tactile pleasure from the custom of eating with your fingers (not required!).

There are also many nutritional benefits in the Indian diet. The staples of Indian cuisine include foods recommended by health professionals to prevent heart disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes and stroke. And common dishes are not only nutrient packed, they are also inexpensive.

Learn to cook, share our table and enjoy these healthy foods.
